Green Champion *^^*~~
Last night we went to the Green Guardian Awards for Kingston, where Shaun was awarded The Green Champion award, and an apple tree *^^*~~~v v v v v v v v v v v v v!

And so...
...In the mean time, it's been snowing in the UK - was, it's gone now though it did snow again yesterday. Snow here is a novel and somewhat misunderstood concept. I, on the other hand, can never tire of it. My sister took the following photo;

back in town, albeit for a spell
Having been out of touch for a little - ok,ok, a lot - The wonderful Appleseede reminded me that there was an event on over new year; I thought 'fantastic!' then completely forgot, until the last day, when I was out anyway @.@"... During that time, Appleseede made the wiser move and actually utilised it, and after all these years has finally turned 55!
Now for 56 ^~?? It was also good to see some of the older players including Gwen & Lucky *^^*x!
Appleseede has, without a doubt, been there for me, when things are really hard, and when I was very good at pushing and hurting. In all this time, he has never felt the need to remind me of the the hurt & anguish I caused him, but has always instead focused and built on the love that we have and shown. He is now moving into a new period of his life with Cym, one which will, I pray, be prosperous and beautiful. Good luck, dearest, wonderful Appleseede *^^*!
I'm not sure how frequently I will be playing again, but will log in and out when possible. If you can think of something that might persuade me, let me know ^~*!

while nibbling on my lunch at work...
... i started to pick it apart slowly while thinking about my project,... a realisation dawned on me- someone somewhere must have stood making hundreds of these little salad bun rolls wearing (one hopes) a hat, gloves, standing at a conveyor belt, passing it along to the next person who passes it through a machine that puts it into a neat little cellophane pack.
and now, knowing this, my relationship with this little bun changes so much! am i really deriving any pleasure from eating it? do i really know anything about what i'm eating anyway?!
who made it?
where did they make it?
where did the vegetables come from?
how was the bread made?
who provided the flour?
was any of it fair trade?
is any part of it not mass produced?
did anyone at any point even so much as think of how i would feel when i eat it?
do they even care who i am? (and 'yes they do becasue they want to sell it to you' shouldn't count)
And then i spot my apple core, which came from my tenants garden, and i remember how yummy it was. i know where that came from - i have a relationship with the people involved - and they care about what i think of it. these seemingly insignificant strands of knowledge add so much more to the experience of food intake. our relationship with food shouldn't start from the moment we tear open the plastic wrapping - it should be from the very beginning- from it's conception. If the phrase 'you are what you eat' is anything to go by, then we're one bulging grossly overweight junk fast food with little patience and next to no respect for nature.
Further more, if i am what i eat, and i don't know what's in this bun, then i have noooo idea who am i!!!

Whitby & Crypts
Back from Yorkshire and absolutely exhausted! This was my second Whitby Gothic Weekend (and my first October one^^"!) It was, needless to say, brilliantly fun *^~*!
No photos from the week so far however I do have this one which I took of the abbey ruins which was lit up at night
and one of shaun playing with fire ^~*...
with the exhibition coming up next week, the paintings will soon be under the ever discerning, scrutinizing and frightful eyes of the public domain. which i'm nervous about. not because i'm not used to it, but because the body of work just simply doesn't excite me, for which there are many reasons. below are two from the 7 in the series ^^"
for those who read this and are based in london; the show will be in the crypt gallery, under st. pancras church.
however! having said all that, there are projects coming up which i can't wait to get started, and do thoroughly excite, and which i will be positing more about on this journal.
and finally to add to the mélange of photos, sam put up pictures from our adventure into karaoke land in london earlier in august, where by one could witness shaun and myself singing to RAGE ... and britney @.@:,,
I would like to add, finally, that once the show is over, we will be off to Paris! Thank God!
